Terms of Acceptance, Code of Conduct and Waiver of Liability

The Pikes Peak Auto Hill Climb Educational Museum, Inc., (PPAHCEM) is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization. It is also referred to as the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) or (Event).

As a competitor and/or owner I hereby acknowledge that I have read the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb’s 2025 Rule Book and understand its contents. As a condition of being allowed to participate as a competitor and/or owner, I agree to abide by these Rules and by all decisions of the Director of Competition, Race Director, and/or other race officials of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. I further agree that all decisions made in accordance with the 2025 Rule Book shall be final and non-appealable, unless the same shall be arbitrary and capricious, which determination I hereby agree shall be made only by the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Board of Directors. Their decision shall be final and non-appealable, and their determination shall be limited to making a finding that the final decision made pursuant to the 2025 Rule Book was or was not arbitrary or capricious. If the decision is found to be arbitrary or capricious, the decision shall be overturned and resubmitted to the appropriate Pikes Peak International Hill Climb authorities for redetermination under the 2025 Rule Book.

As a competitor I hereby acknowledge that I have read/will read all Pikes Peak International Hill Climb 2025 Bulletins, Addendums and Policies and understand their contents. I further agree, as a condition of being allowed to participate, to abide by the rules and guidelines outlined in the contents of these documents.

Further, I understand it is a privilege to be invited to compete in the PPIHC. As a participant in the event, I agree to refrain from conduct detrimental to the integrity of, public confidence in, and event sponsor support for the PPIHC, including conduct that is illegal or irresponsible. I agree to avoid behavior, which is contrary to the principles of the PPIHC, or may be deemed embarrassing, detrimental, disparaging, defamatory, slanderous or libelous to the PPIHC organization, competitors, race teams and sponsors, race officials, volunteers and staff members. If, at any time, the PPIHC, after investigation of any such allegations, and in its good faith judgment, determine that my actions warrant disciplinary measures, including disqualification, I agree to abide by that decision and accept all consequences.

By accepting an invitation to participate and/or taking part in any activity relating to the Event, I agree to abide by the decisions of the officials and supervisory officials relating to the Event, or any matters arising out of the Event, and agree that such decisions are final, non-appealable and non-litigable, except as provided in the General Competition Rules section of the 2025 Rule Book, Part X Penalties; Part XI Protests and Part XII Appeals, or as stated above.

As a competitor, I further agree to inspect the racing area to ensure that it is in a safe, raceable and useable condition, and voluntarily assume the risk and to have no claim for damages against the PPAHCEM, PPIHC, subsidiaries, affiliates, event participants, officials, sponsors, sanctioning bodies, and any of their employees, agents, officers, volunteers, directors, and others affiliated with the event by reason of damage to the vehicle, the participant, the team, crew or any other person. As a participant, I assume full responsibility for any and all injuries sustained, including death, as well as property damage, any time I am in the racing area or en route thereto.

The risk of serious injury or death cannot be eliminated and, in fact, will always be present at a high level. Competitors are required to advise their spouses and next of kin of this fact. Although safety generally is everyone’s concern, the PPAHCEM cannot be and is not responsible for all or even most aspects of the safety effort. The PPAHCEM does not make any representation or warranties of responsibility to ensure the adequacy for purposes of safety of the racing facility, safety personnel or equipment, or conditions at the track. The PPAHCEM cannot and will not be responsible for the adequacy of a competitor’s race car, racing equipment, or racing activity to accomplish this purpose.

TOWING: All reasonable towing on Pikes Peak (from the Start Line to the Summit) during Race Week and Race Day will be provided by PPIHC. Competitors may directly incur costs for any extra recovery needed for vehicles that are too far off the race course and/or cannot be recovered within two hours of practice or race completion. Competitors are also responsible for towing damaged race vehicles from the Start Line down the mountain.

COURSE DAMAGE: All reasonable course damage caused by a competitor during PPIHC sanctioned events (Race Week/Race Day) will be covered by the PPIHC. Competitors may directly incur any extra cost for damage to guardrails, fence, other equipment and/or structures on Pikes Peak America’s Mountain.

HEALTH INSURANCE NOTICE: Please verify with your health insurance company that your coverage extends to injuries resulting from participation in a racing event overseas as many policies specifically exclude coverage for racing injuries and/or injuries occurring overseas (outside of the coverage territory).

It is recommended that each approved competitor carry an active health insurance policy. International participants; verify with your health insurance company that your coverage extends to injuries resulting from participation in a racing event overseas as many policies specifically exclude coverage for racing injuries and/or injuries occurring overseas (outside of the coverage territory).

EVENT PATCH: All competitors must display one of the following on the upper left breast portion of the competitor’s suit, outer racing garment and/or protective gear.

2025 PPIHC Competitor Patch (included in 2025 Acceptance Packet)

Dated 2025 PPIHC logo (request logo file from [email protected])

Non-dated PPIHC logo (request logo file from [email protected])

The patch must be adhered or sewn in a reliable, professional manner and must be displayed at all times racing gear is worn on the mountain. No additional patches will be distributed during the registration process. It is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure the Official Event Patch is appropriately displayed prior to Race Week.

If you have more than one suit, each will need to have an Official Event Patch. This will be checked at Technical Inspection, where you are required to present all suits you plan to wear throughout the week. Competitors may be fined if their patch is in the improper place or not present at any time during Race Week, Practice, Qualifying and/or Race Day.

MEDICAL CLEARANCE: In the event that a competitor crashes their vehicle and/or is injured during the Event (Race Day, Practice/Qualifying, etc.), the competitor must promptly report to medical personnel and must receive medical clearance before they will be allowed to continue participation in any racing activities. Clearance will be given on-site from a UCHealth Trauma Physician, PPIHC’s Safety Captain, and/or the PPIHC Race Director.

I hereby agree to these Terms of Acceptance as a condition of being allowed to participate as a competitor in the 2025 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Further, I accept the above Terms of Acceptance on behalf of the vehicle owner and/or entry owner.
A signed waiver by the competitor or parent/guardian (if under 18) will be required before you can download your QR code. A link to obtain waivers for all registrants will be shown on the confirmation page.
